I’d stay away from self cleaning, the heat is too much and can cause issues. Just use cleaning products

It’s because it damages the heat sensor making for future uneven cooking.

I've been told not to use the self cleaning option. Main reason being the oven locks itself, if something goes wrong your oven is stuck in the locked position.

we did the self clean on our oven when i was like 11 and it made the house smell TERRIBLE for like 3 days. smelt so bad me and my siblings went and stayed at our grandmas

Yeahhhh still too scared to try it lol. Went with oven cleaner and a pumice stone and it made my oven look brand new

When my furnace went out, I took the door of my oven and put it into self cleaning mode. Everything in my apartment was so tosty! 🥰

my oven has a steam clean option so I just put like half a cup of water in and it doesn't get as hot. game changer tbh.

We have a natural gas GE Convection Oven use the self cleaning all the time. works great. A little smokey sometimes, that’s about it. Takes approx 3 hours to complete the cleaning cycle.
