@meggrowsplants: Do you grow calamansi? This cold tolerant citrus is a great alternative to lemon if you have trouble growing them in your climate. It can be grown in a greenhouse or brought indoors for the winter. And, it produces fruit year round! They can be used just like lemons, and they’re pretty delicious (but a little tart/sour) for fresh eating too! Let me know what I should do with the rest of them once they ripen up 🍋 Also, sorry for the glare! The sun and my phone weren’t cooperating #gardengram #gardendiaries #gardevlog #gardenharvest #calamansi #calamondin #citrustree #growingcitrus #growingfruit #growfruit #gardeninspiration #gardentok
here in Philippines we don't let it get ripe coz we mix it in our sauces and sometimes for marination.

My family is from the Philippines and we use calamansi like lemons. we pick the green ones to marinade/put on food like pancit and palabok and use the ripe ones for drinks like cocktails or lemonade!

As a filipino, We dont really wait for it to go yellow, because we used it as vinegar so we use it while its green..😁

When mine fruited for the first time, I didn’t realise they’re mainly used for sauces and you should’ve seen my face pucker from the sourness. 😂
