I know I chose to have 5 children. So let’s just get that part out of the way. But sometimes, I need to recharge and that includes needing some space and time where no one is touching me, no one is saying “mom mom mom” every time I inhale. I love my babies so much but in order to be the best version of me, there needs to be some boundaries. We have SO MUCH CUDDLE TIME. I often have 3 or 4 people touching me at a time. But sometimes mommy’s body is taking a break and they are welcome to sit by me, near me, with me but not on me and how wild is it that it would make me feel guilty for needed that space? I just wanted to say you’re a great mom (or dad.) That space and time for yourself is not only okay but healthy. Just because “she just wants her mom to hold her” doesn’t need that mom needs to sacrifice her boundaries for it all of the time. 💛
