Okay so down and dirty. 1. Female officer lacked training “muzzle before flesh”, she was panicked and scared no muzzle or trigger discipline. 2. fluid scene a lot of unknowns could of been a quick…

did you ever have to help with the Pueblo areas? I know its run by the BIA, but sometimes they ask for help.

Can’t talk about APD w/o talking about the Chief, a civilan mayor leading LE, weak academies and relaxed standards. 🤷🏽♀️

I feel like complacency is a huge issue and a lack of continuing training but hey in the heat of the moment reaction is caused by an action. Without being there hindsight 20/20 will always be a thing

Sounds like a crime concern. Not police concern.

For 1st incident, easily prevented because you don’t stack up in a situation like that. 2nd, improper search, my dept always stressed that everyone is searched thoroughly when placed in the unit.

Follow up on trespassing one. He does not need to give I’d to be trespassed. So detainment might not be legal.

Fire the police chief 1st. Give more training, funding, and more patrols. 1990s had more officers on patrol then now. Internal Affairs and higher ups have to much fat at the top.

It falls on the training division. I say that as an instructor working in one of the largest police academys in the country

Where you therez? Of all people you should know this. You are putting information out there without all the facts and no solution. Just be retired and let it go.

Because APD focuses on paperwork, not tactics… that’s why they unload 72 rounds for one dude at a bus stop.

Well I supposed when you have a department under DOJ oversight, that department has no choice but to adopt DOJ training and tactics, which is probably why APD has poor training right now.

officers have internal affairs on the mind because if they even breath wrong in the direction of someone they catch an IA case. Chief Wiggins needs to step down

It’s the Wild West there. I have been to many trainings with APD officers and all were good people with the craziest stories.
