@hkalsto6150: I have tried making yeast bread a bunch of times. The dough only came together when I used one recipe that had me hand knead it and not use a mixer. But that recipe wouldn’t rise above the pan. I have tried multiple recipes since then and each time it gets to this step it won’t form and attach to the hook in one ball like it should. I added an additional 3ish cups of flour just to be able to lift it put of the bowl to put oil in the bowl and put the dough back in. But the dough was still not forming into a ball and faling over my hand… Please provide suggestions what i should do, starting to give up and have no faith that i can make yeast bread correctly :/ I dont think its the yeast since I still put my failures into the pans and bake them and they rise to the top of the pan and taste good.#bread#flop#yeastbread#baking#homestead#activedryyeast

you always need to add flour a little at a time until the sticky dough cleans the side of the bowl and clumps together while mixing.

Are you using a warm towel over the bowl for it to rise…water might be too hot?? 110 degrees with a meat thermometer is good rule of thumb
