I don’t disagree with you at all. But name another industry other farming, you produce a product and can’t set a price yourself

I grew up ag. I love when people say farming is hard.. Modern farming is anything but hard. You can't find a skinny young farmer..

None of that applies to a small dairy or beef farmer like myself

I'd like to see the farms go back to the way it was in the 80-90s. smaller farms more people actually farming and well "mega farms".

My two cents is, if we remove subsidies, crop insurance included, only the big farmers and ranchers survive. Hobby farmers and large family farms will be the only ones to get by without the safety nets in place

There’s no other industry in the land that you can take out insurance to make sure that you at least break even. Clearly farming is a whole Nother category that’s out of touch to the common man.

I think it’s because the US relies on the product as an asset in international trade. Their investing in the nations product, not the individual farms.

It's the only business that the owner operator "loses" money or didn't break even, but keeps purchasing land to farm. Then the young people that want to get in farming can't because the cost of land.

I guess I’m shopping in the wrong places for this crop insurance that ever pays and these ones that the big company farms get them to pay them because all I get is just like car insurance you pay for

I think the subsidies and insurance makes not as good a farmer. Management is so much better when you have to rely on yourself for money and crops.

Concrete construction you can't. I don't believe we can stand to go back to the 60s or even the 90s with how big the farms are anymore they would never get crops done? Correct?

I own a excavating company I have a half of million in equipment sitting right now. Zero chance insurance or the government will bail me out. Just good old fashion work. But the slow down in business is a nice break

like the 60s. at least you'd have the chance to start farming. now the only way you can do it is if grandpa bought the land, dad expanded the equipment and you get to use dads equipmentto farm gpas
