Plowing is useful if not used every year I doubled the tonnage replanting 15 year old hay ground right back into what it was planted before

A moldboard plow is another tool in the toolbox. I think they have their place, I enjoy pulling one personally.

A necessary evil sometimes plowing up terraces. My luck is usually opposite and plowed terraces end up 5-10 bushel less than the rest of the field.

I was always told that if the ground is hard the roots have a harder time getting down deep for moisture and nutrients and this proves it that the plants need looser soils
