This place makes us feel like we are on another planet! 📍Long Dong Silver/Silver Spire 🥾Located off Utah Highway 24, near the town of Hanksville. You will be driving on a dirt road from the Highway for a little bit until you encounter a sign that says no cars allowed beyond this point. From there you will hike about 1 mile one way ⛰️There is no official trail, and the ground is soft and sandy in the entire area. This is a remote area with spotty cell service, please download offline maps and research the location prior to venturing out there. ⛅️Best time to visit: Spring and Fall makes the best time to travel to Utah for cooler temperature and less crowds. The best time of day to see Long Dong Silver is sunrise. ☔️Weather can be unpredictable in this area, when we visited in September, it was extremely windy and there were scattered storms throughout the day, it's crucial to go prepared, bring basic emergency gear/medical kit, and LOTS of water. 🚘Under dry conditions, no 4x4 necessary. If it has rained recently, its best to go with a 4x4. We recommend anyone visiting Utah and plan to see places other than National Parks to have a high clearance 4x4 regardless of weather. #longdongsilver #silverspire #utahhiddengems #marsonearth #drone
