I got sent this picture this morning from Shelley with “Just to say your dad would be super proud of you” made me well up. 8 Years today I lost the old man to a stroke, so much has changed in those 8 years. Looking back on such dark times only serve’s you well when you look back to see how far you’ve come. When my father left us it was the final straw for me after losing all my work, money and my mind, I was a mess, broken, drinking hard, seshing even harder, smashing my step mums anti anxiety and depression pills, then me and the Mrs broke up, I that was it was spiralling hard, till I almost did the unthinkable, its painful to look back on. Looking at this picture, it must have been taken on the 1st anniversary of his passing because a few days after he left us we found out we was having Neve and here I am with her as a baby. To think back then I couldn’t work, Id just been cancelled, I was addicted to drinking and drugs, sad, depressed, anxious, me and Shelley was a mess and now Im 495 days sober, on a huge UK almost sold out stand up comedy tour, bigger then anything id done when he was alive, me and Shelley are the best we have ever been and we have a NEW baby on the way. He would be proud, he’d be happy, im sure he is up there. I asked him many times if he could pull some strings for me and I know 100% he has. Any lads struggling look for “men & their emotions” on facebook. #grief #rip #Love #dad #MentalHealth
