There has always been a problem with engines built with aluminum… from the beginning of aluminum heads on cast-iron blocks, then they went full aluminum, but still, it cannot hold up to the heat

Heat soaking the motor at 1300 is different then seing 1300 for a few seconds.

caused by dirty fuel when one or two of the holes in the tip turns to a blow torch burns piston and deflects off piston cuts valve off see a million times

Having an egt gauge ran to ur cab is cheap and a good way to really watch your motor, is good advice

Ive seen pyros go into the red and no higher RPMs with the operator thinking more fuel more RPMs....Nope just more heat Cracked heads most of the time bc of that logic .

exhaust gas temp is for all cylinder it happened in one cylinder perhaps engine overruns the reason pls check recorded data

I have an edge performance on my 05 Cummins, as soon as the EGT’s gets to 1200, I gear down or back off the throttle.
