✨ Paradise just 1 hour from Lisbon? Yes, it exists! 🌊☀️ We left early in the morning and arrived at Praia do Creiro around 8:50 AM. Even though a few people were already there, it still felt like we had the beach all to ourselves: calm water, soft sand, and that “private island” vibe. Walking along the shore, it was hard not to pause every few steps and just take it all in. Getting there is part of the adventure: a short, steep path through the bushes leads you to the beach. Not the easiest with little kids, but the reward is 100% worth it. From Coelhos, we made our way to Praia de Galapinhos, hopping over rocks at high tide (at low tide it’s a gentle walk along the sand). Here are some tips if you want to make the most of your day: ✅ Arrive early: Parking fills up fast — and if you come late, you’ll have to park on the street, and the walk to the bus can be very long. ✅ Free shuttle bus: Runs from the parking lot to the main beaches — super convenient if you want to explore without hiking back. ✅ Check tide times: High tide means climbing rocks; low tide makes beach hopping easy if you want to go from one beach to another. ✅ Bring your own umbrella/blanket: Galapinhos has rentals, but it’s always nice to have your own. ✅ Food & drinks: There’s a restaurant at Galapinhos if you need snacks or a full meal. We spent the day hopping between beaches, swimming, and just soaking in the beauty. By the time we took the shuttle back, it felt like a full day in paradise — without even leaving the region! Save this paradise for your next trip 🏖️ or send it to your beach buddy 💕 ****************** Hi, I’m Nadine. Mom of two boys and wife to my best friend. We moved to Portugal chasing a slower, more intentional life. Follow along for family travel, expat life & parenting adventures. From Lisbon with love, Nadine ❤️ #portugalwithkids #slowlife #lifeabroad #travelfamily #lisbonwithkids
