I watched this the other day but most times I’m at work so it’s muted. Hence why I ask questions that you probably spoke about but I didn’t hear it. Lol but I totally agree with what you’re saying

*Not a ship edit* I honestly think it’s sad to see people accusing Gojo of having failed Megumi, because there are a few important things to take into account—yet no one ever seems to mention them. So I will. And I’ll probably get canceled for it, but whatever. First of all, Gojo’s age when he took Megumi in. He was still eighteen (and honestly, if you do the math, he could’ve even been seventeen—but let’s say eighteen, that’s more likely because of the legal age). Gojo was still a kid himself, still learning, so what exactly were people expecting him to do? Satoru did what he could—he offered Megumi a better life in the only way he knew how: through sorcery. Now, this is just my personal interpretation since we don’t have many details, but I don’t think Satoru ever meant for Megumi and Tsumiki to fully rely on him. He was basically a stranger to them, and probably wanted them to live their own lives (which, of course, included Megumi learning jujutsu). Plus, they were financially supported by Jujutsu High—not by Gojo himself—which is another reason Megumi had to become a sorcerer. I’m not saying it was fair, but it makes sense. Someone might argue that Gojo could’ve supported them financially himself, but again, he was still a student. And doing that would’ve meant both of them depending entirely on him. The second point is for those who say “Gojo only cared about Megumi’s technique.” I’ve been thinking about this a lot, because sure, he tells him he needs to get stronger and keep up with him—but Gojo wasn’t a teacher yet. It’s unlikely that fostering talent was his main goal at the time or the only thing he was thinking of (there would be more to add also considering Geto leaving but i don’t have room for it). He surely saw potential in Megumi, but I think it was in good faith. Gojo came from one of the major clans, like Megumi, so it’s likely he just assumed Megumi would naturally grow up to become a sorcerer—and maybe choose to quit later if he wanted to (which never happened because of Tsumiki). The tragedy of Megumi becoming a sorcerer lies in the circumstances that forced him into it—and that’s on his family, not Gojo. I really believe Satoru felt a sense of responsibility toward Megumi, which is a very typical trait of his. To say he only saved Megumi to exploit him means completely missing the point of his character. Not to mention, blaming Gojo more than Toji is just wild to me. That being said—don’t get me wrong—Gojo did make mistakes with Megumi, and it’s totally valid to hold him accountable for being emotionally distant or too focused on his skills, especially as they got older. But I think that critique applies more to the present timeline, not the past. I believe he acted in good faith and, yes, your honor, I’d say Gojo protected them 😤 Finally, their dynamic becomes more layered as the story progresses, and there’s so much to unpack. I don’t know if I’ll ever dive deeper into it, but what I will say for now is this: they both found in each other someone they truly needed. The fact that they are everything the other will never be is not a coincidence. (Plus notice how every scene of them together is always sunny and brings a sense of comfort; once that manga panel gets animated, it’ll be sunny there too. Mark my words.) I just wanted to share this because I really don’t get the Gojo hate. He was just a kid too :( Sometimes I think of him as Megumi and Tsumiki’s stepdad, but then I remember he was more like an older brother growing up with them :’) Praying this reaches the right audience, because this is such a delicate topic lol but ofc let me know your take because I’m always questioning myself ps: back to my roots with this edit!! pps: I saw an opportunity in the “or hide in the closet” line and DID NOT take it #megumifushiguro #gojousatoru #megumifushiguroedit #gojousatoruedit #jjk #jjkedits #jujutsukaisenedit #fyp #foryou #viral #animeedit #xyzabc #xycba #xybcafyp
