i also think that part of the reason a lot of gen z are becoming so conservative is because progressiveness was shoved down our throat without an explanation on why it was important yk? I AM NOT A BIGOT BTW NOR DO I SUPPORT ANY OF THAT STUFF but i was thinking abt it in reference with body positivity like it was big in the 2010s with older gen z (1997-2002) and younger millennials and they knew the importance of it and like why it was needed but the rest of us gen z don’t see it as a big thing thus don’t get it. and i also think due to not experiencing a lot of the catalysts and monumental movements for rights in society, we’re easier to misguide and be fed nonsense. for example, conservatives will have you believe that the reason why women must work and have a job is because ‘feminism said so’ when really the economy is so fucked that you cannot live on one salary anymore but due to ppl not being as educated on social and political issues, lack of experience and also weaponised incompetence, we don’t challenge the narratives that are fed to us. additionally, i think alot of it is our lack of desire to challenge things. why is this social issue importance to us? why do we agree with this but disagree with that? due to this lack of questioning things and deciding what we believe in, our generation is turning to people who will give us the answers we want without the hard work of thinking and forming our own opinion, leading to so many of us getting misled into conservatism. that’s why so many of our generation are reformists and trumpies compared to millennials; we don’t think and simply believe whatever stupidity is fed to us. but anyway those are just my thoughts and my a in aqa a level sociology showing #genz #politics #sociology #conservative #trump #reform #liberalism #sonicmovie3
