i don't think class pets are a bad idea i mean i went to a school to study animal care with lots of bunny's and even pigs sometimes but i do think he needs a friend since gineau pigs are social animal

I rescued one from a school in a over crowded cage now he owns my whole living room. He gets fresh veggies because he literally won't eat bagged ones. He been 4 yrs with me getting bigger and fluffier
