I literally test if my puzzles are too hard by getting my 8yo to solve them first. if it takes 10mins, I know I have hours of content.

Your party solved it? My party gave up on opening the final room door and just left the dungeon. Seriously. And I thought I had made it too easy.

one session all we had to do was talk to people to solve it but after 4 hours we haven't tried that.

or they misinterpret the first clue and from there on apply that misunderstanding to all subsequent clues further pushing them away from the answer, and you can't... say... anything...
