Full budget & Tips 👇🏻 This is what I spent on a solo road trip to the Grand Tetons (2 travel days + 5 days in the park). Accommodations: $0 I camped at dispersed camping spots for the entire trip, which you can find with apps like @iOverlander, @OnxOffroad, and @allstays_apps. I camped in my rooftop tent but you can just as easily camp in a regular tent, or van depending on what set up you have. Showers + laundry: $20 I spent $20 on tokens at Signal Mountain campground, which was enough for 3 total showers (gave some tokens to a friend of mine) and 1 load of laundry. Fuel: $323.57 I drive a 2019 Subaru Outback, with a few modifications including the rooftop tent, so you could easily spend less on gas with a more fuel efficient vehicle, or by splitting the gas cost with 1-3 friends. The total mileage for the trip starting in Portland was 2,052mi and most of that was just the drive out and back, so you could easily spend more days in the park with minimal extra gas cost. Park Entrance Fee: $80 This is for a new America The Beautiful park pass (normally the fee is $35), which I highly recommend you get if you’re planning to visit national parks 3+ times in a year as it pays for itself. Meals + eating out: $250.69 I spent $108.04 on groceries for the week and $142.65 eating out, which could have been a lot less, but with being on the go a fair bit and waking up for every sunrise… I ended up splurging a bit extra on eating out instead of cooking meals myself. Coffee + snacks: $148.37 I could have easily saved here by making more of the coffee myself, and purchasing more snacks at a grocery store before the trip… oh well! Total: $822.63 $117 / day Was this more, or less than you expected?💰 #roadtrip #grandtetonnationalpark #grandtetons #wyoming #travelcosts
