My vet always expects me to handle my dog at all times especially his face and mouth while examining, giving vaccines or checkups, my dog has never shown signs of aggression but YNK

I always soft muzzle my two big dogs when we have to go to the vet. I love my dogs but i don’t trust them in other peoples face. I am so sorry this happened to you.

my doggie is a poodle. she's not a biter. no aggression in her at all. she developed arthritis and boy I could not pick her up! she also now has to be muzzled for her grooming. she gets a muzzle when visiting the vet. how awful this must have been for you

my GS just showed me her teeth and snapped at me fir trying to take a candy wrapper from her, right after I saw the first video. she's never acted like that

My unaggressive dog went to the vet for swollowing something. The vet put him on a lift table. Dog freaked out. Vet cornered him to examine him. Vet now equals very aggressive dog at visits. 😢

I have a shepherd and alway muzzle him at the vet even though he's never bit anyone. I would be devastated if he hurt anyone so I he gets muzzled and the vet and techs appreciate it too.

Dang. Never thought about the lift table being that much help! We have about 4 in our clinic … I kinda never like using them unless it’s a big dog!

My last dog hated the vet and was muzzled reluctantly. My dog now is muzzle trained specifically for the vet. Doesn’t even phase him but puts all of us at ease

I’m not a vet, but I AM always wary of any dog. As a kid, a LONG time ago I had an afternoon ‘paper route’ and was bitten twice by dogs. I basically never trust a dog, regardless of what the owner may say.
