My water literally broke. I was not just leaking some other fluids. My water literally broke at 18 weeks. It happened during my closing shift at my job. I thought I peed. I thought n what if my water broke? I asked to leave home and didn’t go to the hospital until the following day. I got tested and waited for the result until the ER doctor came in with unexpected news and said that my water did break. I was rushed to the labor room. They got me tested for the third time to make sure my water actually broke they confirmed it every time. They said they had to induce me immediately to avoid infections. But another doctor said it was best to wait until I show sign of infection: fever or low abdominal pain so they sent me home after I stayed overnight. I was at a loss because I never understood why they sent me home when my water broke. They cannot do anything because I was under 20 weeks. I went to see high-risk specialists every day, and they encouraged me to drink a lot of fluids: coconut water, watermelon, and water. I even took probiotics, zinc, and vitamins to avoid any infections. A few weeks later, we did an ultrasound and doctor said that my sac looked normal with full fluids. They were surprised at this and said they never seen something like that. They said I was fortunate.
