I don’t know what it is about the word, but I’ve never liked the word yams. I absolutely love eating all the sweet potato dishes but as soon as someone says yams, I get turned off of them so fast

When I order “yams” at soul food restaurants I usually call them sweet potatoes and they always correct me and say yams but I know they really sweet potatoes 😩 they not the same
