@compass.acres: How to split ornamental grass 👇🏼 I had to move this grass because it was too close to the foundation of the fire pit and it really wasn’t happy in that spot anyways. So when and doubt, move the plants! To split ornamental grasses- 1. Dig out whole root ball 2. Lift grass and put on its side 3. Take an axe and give it a chop through the roots 4. Split until your heart is happy and replant! It is EXTREMELY HARD to get a shovel through Ornamental grasses and split like you would other perennials. *side note- I moved this grass from the fire pit to a new spot and then decided I should split it before I let it take root You can also use a saw, but I like an activity that lets me exercise some of that aggression out 🤪 #gardening #gardendesign #ornamentalgrasses #compassacres #gardencoach #flowerlovers
