I did that when I built my house and put stained corner molding on it so that it doesn’t get dinged. Lost my leg in a car wreck and am in a wheelchair now it’s the only unscraped drywall in the house

It's stronger than you would think. I've done this and crashed into the one I did at home. It held up really well. I only had to sand and redo that one damages spot.

Guys they sell the same but with tape, screwless, its a lot less prone to cracking since it moves with the drywall. If you nail and the frame behind it moves it cracks
