Her interviews with i-D and Paper Magazines really wrecked me... but in a good way. Not the happy kind - I've still got a cold pit in my gut after - but good in that I know the real Rosie a bit more. Rosé was the perfect idol in my head, and I'm sad that she's gone and wasn't entirely real to begin with. But I think we're all better off knowing the real Rosie, and It's been good for her as well, I think. She's not perfect, and she's not trying to be a blameless victim either. She's accountable for her choices, which shows in her lyrics and what she says about being responsible for choosing to stay in these toxic relationships and toxic habits. She admits that it was her fantasies, her priorities, her choices that put her in these situations. And becoming aware of that is part of maturing as an adult, I think. It's not just blaming others for the pain they inflict on us, but also recognising the part we played on letting them into our lives to hurt us. She chose those men, she chose to doomscroll hate comments, she chose to focus on and believe the bad things others said about her. And that's something we all do and are guilty of, and it's something we all need to learn to overcome with time (and sometimes, it's best to do that with a little help from outside from people who really care about us, and even sometimes some professional help 🙏🏼)
