It took me 35 years to get to my first $100k, five years to $200k, three years to $300k. It truly snowballs. Be disciplined.

Investing into index funds. The first $10k is the hardest. The second $10k is inevitable. Your account will double in value every 7ish years

Finding an employer with a 401k match helps.

The trick is to invest not save. Only have 3-6 months of expenses in a hysa, put the rest in a Roth IRA or 402k and invest in a total market or sp500 etf

it's realistic, I actually saved 100k outside of retirement accounts in 4 years, $3k car, ppl convince themselves they need new vehicles, it keeps people poor. I don't drink which is huge too.

I reached it at 25. Lived at home as long as I could. I’m debt free and have good income. I own a 10yr old car and do not impulse buy anything. Takes a lot of discipline but saving becomes addicting

You need a 401k and an employer that contributes decently. I’m single, only make 85k & contributing very little to my 401k but w my employer contro it’s already at 50k after just 2.5 years.

Examine every. Single. Choice. We did it one coffee NOT PURCHASED at a time. You won’t save that much in a year, but you’ll be amazed how fast it happens when you stop buying stuff you dont need.

Forget 100k, just start with whatever you can. Set a goal of 5k to start, then keep moving from there

Just set aside a little less than $8500 a month. It builds up pretty quickly.

It’s realistic if you make 100k+ alone and live in a dual income home or have multiple roommates

I love how thoughtful you are being with the question. The honest answer is that advice typically isn’t realistic on a teacher salary. Those in business (even secretaries or entry level) make far more

I surpassed 100k in my 30s with an income between 40k and 50k…. The majority of it is in stock that was profit sharing from my previous employer. Also have a 401k, roll over IRA and Roth IRA.

Beside investing people are leaving out that they didn’t “save” that money they owned property and then sold and made $$$. Then saved it or invested it. Coming from someone who did just that 😂

Real estate/stocks. Money saved is useless. Invest it and it’ll do more than just sitting liquids in an account.

I thinks there’s a difference between 100k of cash versus 100k in retirement/investment funds. Comes down to setting aside money and speed depends on income and budgeting.
