@justanothergirlwithendo: Endometriosis and weight gain!! Can endometriosis cause weight gain? So it’s pretty complex, whilst endo doesn’t actually cause weight gain, it’s common for people with endo to feel that they have gained weight, but let’s get into the details. First, inflammation. Endo is an inflammatory condition, and when the body is inflamed, it often holds onto extra weight as a protective response, therefore reducing inflammation through diet and lifestyle is key here. Inflammation can cause bloating which can lead to weight fluctuation and make it look like you have gained weight and retaining fluid can make your clothes look and feel differently, too. Next, hormonal imbalances. Hormonal fluctuations associated with endometriosis may lead to weight gain over time, and many people with endo have excess estrogen, which can cause weight gain, especially around the hips and belly. Then, there’s cortisol—the stress hormone. High cortisol encourages the body to store fat, especially around the belly. And finally, for some, medications for endometriosis can lead to weight gain as a side effect. If you want me to go into holistic ways to help manage weight in a natural way, do let me know!! 💘 #justanothergirlwithendo #endometriosis #HealingJourney #symptoms

I’ve actually gained a lot of weight though from it so…I started having symptoms 2 years ago. That’s when I started gaining weight. Found out I have endo almost a month ago. Only thing that’s done it.

I'm the opposite I can't gain weight... I feel like maybe because most days I am nauseous and have no appetite... could this be part of Endo and does anyone else have this issue

I’ve gained a lot of weight after a year on depo & now I think I have too much estrogen. But my bmi needs to be under 30 for surgery. I’ve joined the gym now swim but can’t shift it🥺
