I have almost the exact same story! I found out when I was pregnant with my first child- I thought it was only gestational. Then for about a year after my pregnancy I was still diagnosed as type 2, I lost 20 pounds and finally found a new doctor who informed me I was misdiagnosed. My dad was Type 1 as well, but I never had any symptoms till pregnancy.

Type 1 diagnosed at 26 out of the blue! I was so sick for a year before I knew what was going on. Got pregnant with my daughter at 28 and she weighed 10.3 two weeks early. I’m very brittle.
