@yuvaltheterrible: Two science fictions back to back! Who would’ve thunk! Big thanks to @Nick Powers and @Professor Neil for the recommendations #books #BookTok
Andy Weir also did another book called Project Hail Mary and if you liked the Martian, I think you'd dig it. Maybe if you get a chance after the reading challenge.

If you liked the Martian try Hail Mary. Same author. A little more fantastical but still good

Haven’t read the book but liked the movie. The beginning of the movie made no sense since there’s no wind on mars.

Our prof recommended "Three Body Problem" by Liu Cixin, as a realistic scifi. Your opinion?

The Martian is great. Andy Weir went to great lengths to insure scientific accuracy. The few things that aren’t 100% are mostly thing we literally didn’t know when he was writing.

Hi! Maybe you know Neal Stephenson? Maybe you’ve read «Seveneves»? It’s hard science fiction and quite amazing if you ask me 😅 first sentence goes: «the moon blew up without warning and for no apparent reason ». Detractors of the book typically dislike how human interactions are deep enough. The opposite of a Stephen King I would add. But quite amazing in it’s genre. ☺️

You should totally read Children of Man next. Lots of stuff on evolutionary theory.

Finding upbeat but serious (aka not comedy) series is actually kind of hard. The Bobiverse and the Martian are on a short list for me in sci fi.

I've seen Project Hail Mary recomended so I'll go a different direction: Try The Expanse. It's probably the most realistic space opera ever made
