The rubber lines could be getting dried out causing it to pull air and lose prime. Happened to my lb7

No lift pump on the older duramax trucks relies on the cp3 to suck fuel non factory filters I e had cause it and weak cp3 pumps toss a lift pump on it’ll help it huge

Fuel filter housing, there is a unserviceable sensor, will suck air sometimes if it leaks, happened to mine

pressurize the fuel tank with shop air, it'll push the fuel up to the engine and show a leak you might not have seen before because that system relies on the fuel being sucked from the tank.

Get rid of filter head add lift pump ride off into the sunset. If youre being cheap id replace lines from tank to cp3. A pin hole in one of the flex joints in the feed line will drive you nuts

Is the fuel tank venting correctly? Temp cools down overnight and tank draws a vaccuum, heats up over the day and builds pressure again so the pump can pull the fuel. pull the fuel cap will it run?

had an 06 Kodiak with an LML ambulance body, low rail pressure codes after approx 15 mins of driving. fuel cap went bad and wasn't venting... 5 bucks to rule that out
