I remember that one girl on here talking about accommodations for “time blindness”💀

In my late 20s I had a therapist tell me. 'We reach an age when we need to stop blaming our parents for everything.' It was the best thing anyone could have ever said to me.

I used to say on my twitter years ago that popularisation of therapy practices and terms was a bad idea

also worth mentioning, since adults are taking a bigger part in kids' spaces, it means we are actually getting less spaces for kids to be kids!!!

I wonder how much of this stems from being childfree, where the majority of previous generations could engage with and relive childhood media through their own kids?

I think part of it is not having money for adult hobbies too, boomers golfed and traveled and had mid life crises and millennials can't afford that

The 25 frontal lobe thing really contributed to this I think. Like you are not a toddler you are 24.

re: the diagnosis culture, i genuinely think a big part of it is that nt people have been co opting therapy terms AS nts. rejection therapy, hyperfixating, nonverbal, w/o knowing what it acc means

y'all realise that jokes about not feeling like a grown up doesn't mean anyone thinks they are actually a child, right?

The most fun part of being a millennial is the constant pathologization. It’s pretty much been the only constant from our youth to today.

I think there's also just a lack of entertainment for adults. it's either made for older audiences or young adults. there's not a reflection of millennials in media, making it hard to grow with media

k but isnt this just a continuation of the same trend of generations enjoying fluffy or fun media content in hard times? like the burst of musicals in the 1940s and early 50s

I’m 32, I’ve been married and owned an apartment (with our parents’ help) for five years and I’m pregnant. I still feel like a child all the time but with more responsibilities

This is more of a branch off thought but a lot of people use their kids to reconnect with childhood and its media, fun outings and traditions, etc. now that it is so hard to have kids, I feel people in their mid 20s are looking for something to replace that pathway, and a lot of time it leads back to that “inner childhood” behaviour and immature tastes

I just like to watch fluff media because its more calm and fantastical and life is horrific. still work, clean, cook, pay taxes, and parent. just need a brain break with media sometimes

1) I'm 40 with a partner and kids and I still feel like I haven't figured out how to "grow up" yet. it's a combination of the economy and still renting, and how my parents still infantalize me.
