@msetfashiondesign: How to sew a blanket stitch: A blanket stitch is a simple and decorative stitch often used for finishing edges of fabric or creating a neat hem. 1. Thread the needle and tie a small knot at the end. 2. Make a loop with the first stitch and pass needle under the loop over fabric edge as shown in the tutorial, I like to do this twice for a neat first stitch. 3. To sew the first stitch, insert the needle a stitch length away from the start point and slightly below the edge of the fabric, keeping the needle pointing up (towards fabric edge). Loop thread behind the needle and pull the needle through (up). This is your first blanket stitch. 4. Move a stitch length away along the edge, and repeat the process. 5. Keep the stitches evenly spaced for a neat appearance. 6. When you've finished stitching, tie off the thread securely at the back of the fabric. 🫶🪡✨ #sewingtiktok #sewingforbeginners #sewingtutorial #handstitching #blanketstitch

That’s called a locking stitch. We use that in surgery. Idk about other doctors, but we use that to close the inside capsule when doing a total knee replacement😅
