@drjoedamiani: Do you experience tension in the front of your throat? Difficulty swallowing, TMJ disorder, jaw pain or even neck tension when you look up? Well very commonly the muscles around the front of the neck, jaw and floor of the mouth can become tight…. Including the Sternohyoid! You see the infrahyoid muscles (below hyoid bone) one of which being the sternohyoid stabilize the hyoid bone… in other words they prevent the hyoid from elevating during swallowing. This allows the suprahyoids, which are above the hyoid bone to open the jaw. Confused yet? However, when the infrahyoids, specifically that sternohyoid become too tight, they can create all sorts of discomfort. In this video, I show an excellent way to release the Sternohyoid. This can even help with breathing, TMJ, swallowing, headaches, and neck pain itself! #tmj #tmd #myofunctionaltherapy #dentist #tonguetie #neckpain #tmjtreatment #neckpainrelief #sternohyoid #tongue
