we went to a wedding with a 2 hour cocktail hour where they only served alcohol (no food, no water). My mom was trashed by the time dinner was served. My husband stole some water for me bc I was DD.

My family was just at a wedding that didn’t have food at the cocktail hour and the guests were not happy. I have never been to a cocktail hour without food!

My daughter did cheese, fruit, and cheese. It was just enough. Her wedding was set, as none of the people invited are drinkers. Tea, water, lemonade, and coffee.

I agree. Sometimes people don’t eat in anticipation of a lot of food being served and may get hangry and drunk in between the ceremony and dinner.
