I'm 43 and this started when I was 17. losing time. sometimes days. PTSD. trauma. I didn't find out the cause until I was 32. it's scary, I know. I don't know I'm losing time until someone tells me.

it could be trauma related or it could just be your brain slipping into automatic to save energy for other things. I do it a lot when I'm driving (I know, it's awful) or when I'm just doing a lot of repetitive and boring things. I'm also audhd amd have a lot of trauma. I've just chalked it up to my brain going to sleep and just doing the tasks.

In addition to what others have said, you could look into DID (dissociative identity disorder).

All you can do is go to therapy. I HATE therapy, but until you know what you're dealing with, you may continue to lose time.
