I always wondered why Gandalf didn’t press Bilbo on what he found (If he didn’t already knew what it was). They could have started the journey to destroy it before Sauron had gathered so much of an army, no? Of course then Lord of the Rings wouldn’t have happened then, but yall got my point.😭

you could still ask the eagles to fly you as close as possible so you only gotta walk for a day or two instead of months.
