when someone wishes me a happy hanukkah or merry Christmas or happy kwanza etc I say thank you because they are wishing me happiness through their personal lens.. its not invalidating my beliefs..

I disagree, I’m Muslim and when someone wishes me a merry Christmas, I just smile and wish them a merry Christmas as well. It’s just a genuine gesture.

I think the majority of people say “merry Christmas” with no religious implications at all. Just in reference to the holiday and wishing someone well. Many non-Christians still celebrate Christmas.

When I lived in Qatar, Muslims used to wish me a Happy Eid, even though we're Christian. I didn't mind at all. It was lovely to be given good wishes and share their joy.

I'm Jewish but I still feel happy when someone wishes me a Merry Christmas because of the sentiment... they're just wishing for me to feel joy! But I do feel even better when it's Happy Holidays!

I don’t always say Happy Holidays bc we are Christian. I sometimes say Merry Christmas. But if someone said Happy Hanukkah to me I’d say it back. Bc that is their belief.
