I told my now husband, no theme parks and no major holidays. He proposed 7/11 because, and I quote, "Slurpee Day isn't a MAJOR holiday!"

Ok proposing on a gift holiday makes the engagement ring a gift and not a contract for marriage. Soooo if you don’t get married they can keep the ring unlike a non-gift proposal

if I am being proposed to that outweighs everything else idc. it is no longer a holiday it is the day I am being proposed to nothing is taking away from that.

I think it comes down to for me is if something happens death, divorce, breakups. My future holidays will always hold a place for sadness. Same with I would never want it on my birthday.

I was proposed to at midnight on New Year’s Eve. We have been married almost 30 years. The proposal is just one moment of a whole lifetime.🩷

I think if you put actual thought behind it's fine, but the 3 people i know that got engaged on Christmas did not have great engagement stories (and one is fully divorced) 💀

My dad proposed to my mom on Christmas morning and honestly ever since I found that out, I've kind of fantasized about doing that for someone, so I'm totally Pro holiday proposal

My best friend was proposed to on Christmas Day at her parents' house. My husband proposed at Magic Kingdom. I think the key is the proposal fits the person.

We got married on a holiday so we can always have it off. 🤔 Proposal needs to be talked about with the significant other so you're on board with each other's boundaries.

My husband prep proposed on Christmas morning after we bought our first home together. Christmas has been a rough time for me since I cut off my mom so it is nice to have a good memory.

My husband proposed on Christmas Eve and we got married on Halloween! I think the holidays are fine if they have meaning to you and it feels personal/special, not just an “I guess this works!” thing.

I usually don't care about holidays, if something meaningful and happy like a proposal happens on a holiday you are redefining that day for me it's cute!

Them proposing on a holiday means they didn’t have to do extra planning, extra decor, make it sweet and special. No, they took the holiday and slapped a ring in it and said “here ya go!” 😑

The idea of a huge proposal is so ick to me. Staging it with photographers or an audience and making it a "special day". You get the wedding, how many "special days" do you need?

Ashley :
To me, it feels like a cheap way to make the day “extra special.” I think some people do it as a shortcut kind of. Which feels yucky. I wouldn’t like it.

My husband proposed to me on Christmas Eve (just the two of us). I wouldn’t change it. I was getting after him for making me knock the presents over I was wrapping just to find out he was proposing.

It better be just the two of us there or the answer will be “no”
