Coca-Cola is being sued for one of their products Simply Orange orange juice for containing toxic levels of PFAS. PFAS is a class of chemicals that are synthetic and also referred to as “forever chemicals“ because they do not naturally break down and sometimes takes thousands of years to do so. According to this article these chemicals are linked to cancers, fetal complications, kidney disease, liver disease, autoimmune disorders, and other serious health conditions. The complaint takes aim at Simply’s packaging and branding, including mentions of “all natural ingredients“, “simply natural“, and “nothing to hide“. In reality, testing has revealed that this is far from thr truth since their product contains PFAS a category of synthetic chemicals that are, by definition, not natural at all. Thanks to @medicalmedium information we know to look out for this type of labeling and are aware that it is a huge loop hole for these giant companies to slip in chemicals, brain betrayers and other ingredients that are toxic and harmful to us. MM has taught us to look out for labeling like “natural flavors“ or “natural scent“ because this is a signal to let you know that it is not that and instead a way to hide harmful ingredients and chemicals.
