As I continue my education and prepare for the future reopening of my private practice, I am building a space centered around women, body awareness, nervous system comfort, consent, and the changes that can come with perimenopause and menopause. One framework that really reflects the kind of care I want SOLACE to offer is REACH: Recognize. Educate. Adapt. Collaborate. Hold Space. Recognize that menopause can affect far more than hot flashes. Sleep, pain, energy, temperature regulation, mood, muscle tension, joint comfort, nervous system sensitivity, and the way a woman experiences her own body can all shift. Educate so women have language for what they are experiencing and understand that their symptoms deserve to be heard and taken seriously. Adapt because a massage session should never be one-size-fits-all. Pressure, positioning, temperature, pacing, draping, communication, and even the goals of the session may need to change depending on what a woman is experiencing that day. Collaborate because bodywork is only one piece of a much larger wellness picture. I believe in working within my scope while encouraging women to advocate for themselves and seek additional support when needed. And perhaps most importantly, Hold Space. Sometimes a woman does not need someone to fix her. Sometimes she needs a place where she can exhale. Where her body is respected. Where she does not have to explain away what she is feeling. Where she is listened to, believed, and given choices. That is the future I am creating for SOLACE Massage. A softer kind of care. A more informed kind of care. A space designed for women moving through the changing seasons of life. 🌿 As SOLACE continues to take shape, I’ll be sharing more about menopause-informed massage, the care philosophy behind the practice, and what future sessions may look like. If this kind of space speaks to you, I hope you’ll stay connected and follow along as I build what comes next.
