Number one rule of jacked club…don’t get injured! I’m not saying nobody should squat, it’s a great exercise. I’m just saying heavy squats are not a requirement for building a muscular physique. I’ve tweaked my back many times trying to set a PR on squat. After a few times I decided it’s better to not get injured and now I mostly focus on machine work, with some light squat variations, but I’m not trying to set any records in strength. My main goal is to build muscle and stay lean. Building muscle and strength aren’t the same thing. Having more muscle will make you stronger by default, but lifting as heavy as possible is not the best way to build muscle. Instead I lift relatively heavy, while focusing on the mind muscle connection. I’m trying to break down the muscle tissue In the gym so it will repair and become larger. There is no single exercise that you HAVE to do to get results, there’s many different exercises you could use to work each muscle group. There’s nothing magical about any one of them, as long as you’re working the muscle and pushing yourself close to failure you will stimulate growth. Also, make sure you’re eating the right macronutrients or none of that will matter. You are what you eat. If you eat a lot of protein you’ll be made of protein (muscle) If you eat too many calories your body will store that extra energy for later (body fat) So workout hard, focus on mind muscle connection rather than lifting as heavy as possible, avoid injury, eat your protein and control your calorie intake.
