@seattlehalalfoodie: My first-ever Yelp Elite event in Lumi Dessert Cafe was a delightful experience! Though i had been an elite for a while, this the first time the stars aligned. Location: 4713 168th St SW #101, Lynnwood, WA 98037 They have another location in Redmond: 15350 Bel-Red Rd suite 110, Redmond, WA 98052 The cozy dessert shop set the perfect scene for a fun evening. Make sure to ask them about non-halal ingredients like alcohol, gelatin and other animal fat. I was told that only S’mores has Gelatin in it. Drinks are non-alcoholic. I started with an Assam Chocolate Milk Tea—randomly chosen but absolutely fantastic, rich, and perfectly sweet, bears all the refreshing traces of black tea. Our table shared two giant bingsus: Mango Cheesecake and Berrilicious. Bingsu is a Korean shaved ice dessert, sweetened with condensed milk and topped with fresh fruit, syrup, ice cream. Both were delicious, but the Mango Cheesecake bingsu, with its fresh, flavorful mangoes, was my favorite. The Apple Rosemary Toast was a standout with its buttery, caramelous, crunchy, herbaceous flavor, while the Bubble Waffle with banana and strawberry toppings was crispy and satisfying. The portions were so generous I had to skip dinner! Thanks @yelp washington for arranging such an event. It was an honor to participate for the first time.
