You guys! I was digging through my archives to come up with a suggestion for something weekend worthy and came across THIS! Ohhhhhh how had I forgotten?? DUMP ’N BAKE (you know I hate that term but that’s what this is), the homemade BBQ sauce is to die for cause it’s essentially made with a homemade beef stock, you will never get one this good in a bottle.  Hope you try it! - N x ❤️ Beef Short Ribs in BBQ Sauce – slow cooked   6 x 300 - 350g / 10 - 12 oz beef short ribs, bone in RUB - mix: 1 tbsp brown sugar, 2 tsp paprika, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp cumin, 3/4 tsp mustard powder, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper BARBECUE SAUCE: 2 garlic cloves, minced 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar 1 1/2 cups ketchup 1/2 cup brown sugar, loosely packed (ie don’t pack it tight) 2 tsp EACH black pepper, onion powder, mustard powder 1 tsp cayenne pepper (ad to taste re: spiciness) 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 2 cups water   1. Sprinkle or press ribs into rub. Mix Sauce ingredients in baking pan (or slow cooker). Put ribs in sauce, turn to coat, then arrange so BONE is up (ie meat submerged).  2. Cover tightly with foil or lid, bake 3.5 hrs at 160°C/320°F (all oven types). Remove foil, turn ribs (don’t worry if some have fallen on side, it happens). Spoon over sauce, bake further 30 min until golden, spooning over sauce again halfway. Meat should now be fall apart tender (if not cover, put back in oven). SLOW COOKER: 8 hours on low, then transfer to pan and put under a hot grill/broiler to caramelise the surface. Reduce sauce on stove, if needed. 3. Remove ribs, then mix the sauce to bring together. Taste – add more salt if needed, hot sauce for more spiciness. If too thick, thin with boiling water. For posh and smooth, strain it. Serve with ribs – either on the side, or spoon it over!   #recipetineats #beefshortribs
