@abc13houston: Mayor John Whitmire said his ultimate goal is to remove unhoused people from public spaces, but this will not happen overnight. It will take years for Houston to see significant changes. #homlessness #homeless #houston #encampment #housing #$70million #plan #houstonmayor #news #abc13houston #abc13
Just fix up your abandoned properties around town and place them there or have them help with fixing the properties in exchange for a place to stay.

Is this the same mayor that put a non engineer in a city planning role? Isn’t Houston 100-200 million dollars short a year? I’m just not understanding this guy 😭

People should look at how much these “executives “ make off of the homeless issue. They do not want this solved so they protest anything that does not give them more money.

They will unfortunately destroy ppl property. I feel so bad for landlords . Just give them a dedicated camp site land and pay them $7.25/hr to keep it clean and work small jobs handing out food etc

Crazy how we have things like this in place already and it’s proven time and time again it doesn’t fix the problem… just a temporary bandaid.

Do what HAWC does- make them work, help them save, then help them pay their own bills before release from the program.
