obsession has been a major box office success for an under million dollar budget horror movie with a fairly unknown cast. i went into the theater with average expectations, of course the blumhouse logo didn’t give me all the hope in the world. especially with backrooms coming out soon, which i’ve overly hyped in my head. regardless of my feelings about the actual characters, i wanted to express just how much this movie means to me as a person. i was pleasantly surprised and extremely overwhelmed while leaving this movie. as a big horror movie fan and someone who wants to be in the film industry, its so heartwarming to see how much praise this film is getting and absolutely deserves. with such a young director as well, it’s so very inspiring to see this during the rise of AI in not just the creative industry, but the world as a whole. obsession is heartwrenching, intense, uncomfortable and left me literally hiding behind my hands more than a movie has done to me in such a long time. all praise to everyone behind this iconic film #obsession
