It’s hard for me to be upset over universes beyond because at the core of magic lore it’s about planeswalkers and the untold number of different planes of existence. So they do sort of belong.

aren't they just like proxies? like same card dif art work and stuff? I'm kind of new 3 months in and enjoying a lot of the sets my personal favorite is monder horizon 3 but I thought universes beyond is just proxy cards? right?

the biggest problem is that there's going to be 6 standard legal sets next year. that's a new set every two months, and which is pretty hard pace to keep up with

It breaks my heart. Magic was such a big passion of mine. But I don’t think I can stick around to watch someone equip Ulamog with Cap’s Shield, while activating squidward targeting ulamog, and casting Limit Break mid combat. It’s all just… too much

The big issue is that UB isn't just fun, fluffy, cards but actually meta cards. I can forgive Rick being a meta card bc that was an accident but now it's competing with actual MTG IPs.

IMO I am kinda over universe beyond. I wasn't all for them at all. I am just kinda over the Hasbro push to make money. I can't keep up with products anymore either "real" mtg or the UB stuff

Tbh my personal magic 9/11 was the end of block sets. I miss getting to know a story and the associated mechanics and color theming over a longer period of time.
