It’s literally cheaper to pay the tariffs than to build a supply chain here

Except most “American Made” products are dependent on parts from other countries. So prices will still go up.

Ford builds trucks in America. But the parts are imported.

it would take 10 to 15 years to actually start making things in America

Also, “American made” have parts from other countries. Like American cars, they are put together here, but a lot of parts come from elsewhere.

Except that the US doesn't have enough resources to make everything its consumers demand.

as someone who works in a Honda factory. it's assembled in the US... but all our parts are from other countries. I'm honestly afraid I'm gonna lose my job due to the Tariffs.

rebuilding the US manufacturing base would take a decade to tool up and they think all those factories would be paying good income? they'll be the same as Amazon warehouses.

Even IF it was feasible to build the supply chain here, it would cost billions and take SEVERAL years to become functional. Gawwwwwwd

They act like it’s so easy 😂😂😂 just start manufacturing here like it wouldn’t take years and years to do this even if we could 😂

Do none of them realize that the US imports the majority of its steel? Like even if we move mfg to the US we have to build the factories first…with IMPORTED steel…that’s heavily tariffed…

No manufacturer is going to invest money to build factories in the US for a 4 year term presidency. Even if they did the cost of those goods would still be substantially more than currently buy import

I’m Canadian. My dad’s company moved operations to the USA (huge corporation). From day 1 they struggled to fill positions. No one wants to work there even with good pay. Factory is set to close 2025

Crazy that they complain about pricing but their "solution" increases costs though tarrifs or increased manufacturing costs in the US. Either way we're paying more 😮💨
