Is this the cult where you have to abandon your family if you join? I remember when I was working as a vet tech we had a client drop off the dog they just rescued to our ER after he was hit by a car. We had no reason to believe she would abandon him, but we lost contact with his owner after a couple days. We did a little research trying to find the owner and found out she was joining a cult and was instructed to abandon everyone in her life: her friends, her family, and apparently even her dog. Unfortunately the protocol is to hold the pet for 10 days while you attempt to contact the owner. On day 9 she contacted us again saying “I promise I’m coming back for him.” Because she contacted us that restarted the 10 days. We tried calling her, texting her with no response, we tried mailing her a letter but the letter was returned. Thankfully he found a great home with one of our techs but he was traumatized after being abandoned twice in his life 🥺

Sounds like the L Ron Hubbard Church of Scientology cult. Our friends who were upper class joined. Had to sell everything, give the money to them. Moved to their facility and their sons were taken away (to be groomed I assume). They are a cult, but I notice there’s a lot of rich famous people in it, but evidently didn’t have to give up all their belongings.
