found out other countries use ultra high heat pasteurization processes so they can keep milk on shelves longer and it makes me sad we don't have that in the US

I grew up on raw milk. Many states allow you to sell raw milk, however the facilities need to meet cleanliness requirements ect. It's usually contamination that causes illnesses.

I grew up drinking milk fresh from the cow!! Never got sick from it. I think part of it is the way milking is done (washing the udder and teats prior) and how the milk is handled after milking (refrigeration etc).

you can have more or less safe milk. you "just" need really really good hygiene for the milking process stuff. some farmers are allowed to sell raw milk here in Germany.

I drink raw milk bc if I drink store it makes me so ill. They heat it so hot so fast and kills everything and then they have to add the good stuff back in.
