Folks. Look at the batter and catcher shadows, they are almost straight down and a little "behind" towards back stop. The sun is almost straight over head, if anything, shadow makes ball look lower

You’re calling it early. The shadow on the batter and catcher indicate the sun is not directly overhead.

Without even looking at the shadow, you can tell it crossed the plate in the zone. Plus, you can’t be watching a pitch that close, either way, especially if you have 2 strikes.

It may still be a strike but it’s much closer than you think. You need to match up the shadow of the ball with the shadow of the batter’s knee to find where it passes the plate.
