During the terminal stage of many diseases, the patient is sometimes no longer able to be considered compos mentis, so would be disqualified. I wonder if that was a factor in doctor decisions?

My first reaction: why should the right to end your life be limited only to the terminally ill? Seems wrong to me to tie that ‚opt out‘ to being at the end of life already.
