I’ve always thought it was in the lambing season, which is in the spring because Jesus was born in a manger, and the shepherds were all out watching over the sheep

springtime, because Shepherds were in the field watching their flock. they only do that when sheep are to give birth and that's springtime. the calendar also used to be 13 months of 28 days.
