@wigglebutt_koda: Last nights panic attack reminded me just how hard healing is✨🥹 Koda helped me find my breath again❤️ 🚨 Last night, Koda and I had a tough moment that turned instantly into a full-blown panic attack. I already suffer from a number of things from CPTSD, PTSD, Panic attacks, anxiety attacks, etc. While we were in the elevator heading outside, it stopped on the floor the off-leash Frenchie that has attacked Koda twice lives. Instantly, my heart started racing, my body tensed up, and I froze, shaking uncontrollably. All I could think about was the last attack—when the Frenchie pinned us against a wall, and I had to use my body and foot to shield Koda while the owner stood by, barley rushing to grab his dog that didn’t even have a collar on and no apologies for the SECOND time. Frenchies are already one of Koda’s biggest triggers, and we’ve worked so hard to overcome the setbacks caused by these irresponsible interactions. The damage it does to both Koda’s training and my mental health is so frustrating. Honestly, most of the elevator interaction is a blur until I rewatched the video I started recording in case the Frenchie came charging again. I wish I could have explained to the people who were there why I was panicking and how hard this has been for us. I feel so bad if I came off as rude, especially since they were so kind and understanding. I’m proud I was able to speak up for Koda, but I wish I could have done it in a calmer, kinder way. That said, I’m incredibly proud of Koda. Even though I was completely spiraling, he stayed composed and handled it like a champ.
